Introducing Lipids

Lipids include a diverse group of compounds that are largely non-polar in nature. This is because they are hydrocarbons that include mostly non-polar carbon–carbon or carbon–hydrogen bonds. Non-polar molecules are hydrophobic, or insoluble in water.
