Most of the reasons given for the establishment of public corporations were based on providing basic essential amenities for citizens at affordable rates to make it accessible to everybody and not primarily for profit making motives.
With essential services companies now run by private individuals for profit making and making it scarcely affordable for all citizens, it contradicts the original motives for the establishment of public corporations in Nigeria
