If page 35 and 102 is to be included,
Then 78 and 127 too should be included coz he started from 35 stopped at 78, so he read 78, and also read 127!!!

We might be in a hurry to subtract 35 from 78 and 102 from 127 and then add the results.

However, if we do that, we will end up with:

78 - 35 = 43

127 - 102 = 25

Total: 43 + 25 = 68

But, 68 is not the answer, because the question says Felix read through pages 35 to 78 and 102 to 127

So, when we simply subtract 35 from 78 or 102 from 127, we assume he did not read page 35 or page 102, which is not what the question says.

The correct solution or algorithm for this question is:

78 - 35 = 43; Add 1 to include page 35: 43 + 1 = 44

127 - 102 = 25; Add 1 to include page 102: 25 + 1 = 26

Therefore, 44 + 26 = 70

You can also check by counting the pages with your fingers or making tally marks on paper.

78 - 35 = 43

127 - 102 = 25

Therefore in total:

43 + 25 = 68
