The number of digit 1 is from 1 to 9
That is 9-1 = 8 + 1 = 9 × digit 1 = 9
Number of digit 2 is from 10 to 99
That is 99 - 10 = 89 + 1 = 90 × digit 2 = 180
Number of digit 3 is from 100 to 366
That is 366 - 100 = 266 + 1 = 267 × digit 3 = 801
Total digit used = digit no 1 + digit no 2 + digit no 3
= 9 + 180 + 801
= 990. That is it.
