Total time in air should be times 2.
5 seconds up, 5 seconds down... Equals 10s

Oluwafemi

V=u-gt.
0=50-10t.
-50=-10t,t=5;
Therefore the total time spent for the ball to go up=total time spent for the ball to return to the ground.
; Total time spent in the air= Total time spent for the ball to go up+time spent for the ball to return to the ground.
Total time spent in the air=5+5=10m/s

In projectile motion, Total time of flight T=2U/g, where U is the initial velocity. Hence, T =2(50)/10=100/10=10s

By using the law of motion where
v = u + at, convert it to gravity:
v = u − gt
u = 50 m/s
g = 10 m/s\(^2\)
t = ?
v = u − gt ⇒ 50
= 50/10 = 5s
Total time spent : 2t
i.e 2 * 5 = 10s.

Total time is 2times the time taken to get to the maximum height.

By using the law of motion where \(v=u+at\), convert it to gravity:

\(v=u-gt\)

\(u=50\)m/s

\(g = 10\)m/s\(^2\)

\(t=?\)

\(v=u-gt \Rightarrow 50-10t=0\)

\(t=\cfrac{50}{10}=5\)s
