Osmosis can be defined as the movement of water molecules from a region of dilute/ weaker solution to a region of concentrated / stronger solution through a selectively/ differentially permeable membrane.
\( Diffusion \)
Diffusion on the other hand is defined as the process by which molecules or ions of a substance move from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration until they are evenly distributed.
NB: Osmosis is similar to Diffusion so their definitions should not be mistaken.
