\(\tan \theta\) = Opposite/Adjacent
\(\tan \theta\) = 30/40 = 3/4
\(\theta\) = \(\tan^{-1}\) (3/4) = 36.9 = 37\(^{\circ}\)

Hyp\(^2\) = Opp\(^2\) + Adj\(^2\)
Hyp\(^2\) = (30 \(\times\) 30) + (40 \(\times\) 40) = 2500
Hyp = 50

To get the direction, draw a graph.

Good day sir, I think the answer is 90 - 37 because the option is in the northeast direction and 37 is the angle it makes with the x axis so therefore the southwest direction which is the angle it makes with the y axis is vertically opposite to the northeast direction and from the law of mathematics, it says vertically opposite angles are equal, so therefore, the angle in the northeast direction is the same as the one in the southwest direction which is 53(90 - 37). Basically, the question is asking for the angle it makes with the y axis. I am expecting a reply as soon as possible and hopefully a change in the programmed answer. Thank you sir.
